Painter's Half Marathon January 2009 (time 2:42) Short-Term Running Goals: In the next two years I want to run 5 half marathons. I want to run four times a week. Long-Term Running Goals: I want to possibly run a full marathon, but I am non-committal. Personal: I am married to my best friend. I have three beautiful children, 2 girls and a boy. My brothers love to run and they think everyone else should too. I started running because they encouraged me and motivate/nag me to do so. |

| | Walked/ran while pushing Jensyn in a stroller. |
| | 3 miles in 29 minutes. (Mostly downhill. Started above Skyline.) |
| |
| | Felt sluggish. I didn't eat anything and I think that was a mistake. |
| | Felt like the easiest 5 miles of my life. I ran the first two miles by myself in Plain City (from mom's to the square and back). Then Darrin and I ran three together. I know I was slower than he wanted to go and I told him more than once that he could go faster. But he stayed with me. I never felt tired or weak or like I wanted to walk. That's a first for me! |
| | Felt sluggish. I guess I prefer to run on flat land and not up and down. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. |
| | Ran Riverdale parkway with Lyndsey. Felt great! |
| |
| | Trail run with Lynsdey by Weber State. I am estimating my distance. We walked/jogged for 50 minutes. |
| | Plain City 10K time 1:00:14. |
| | With Sabrina. Nice pace, ran and talked the whole time. |
| | With Sabrina. Slower than Saturday but still OK. My legs felt too tight. I stopped and stretched some. |
| | Felt OK til the end. When I started up the last hill I last my motivation. I like to run downhill or on flat surfaces. |
| | This was supposed to be a 7 mile run. I took a wrong turn that ended up being a dead end road. I felt discouraged. After back tracking and making up for lost time I headed home. I am glad it still ended up being so close to 7 miles. Next week my long run is 8 miles. I may be headed to PC or to the parkway. |
| |
| | Ran with Sabrina. Nice run. It rained last night so it was cool. We ran up to Glassman then to Edgewood and back around 37th and then BelMar. We had a nice pace. I mostly talked the whole time. I would like to go a bit faster (especially when it is flat or downhill). Sabrina goes the same pace no matter what. I like running with her for the company and that I know I have to get out of bed early to meet her. If I was just going by myself I would probably run around 8 or 9 am and then it would be way too hot. |
| |
| | I miss running with Sabrina. I completely missed my run on Friday and Saturday. Today I slept 45 minutes longer than I wanted to. I didn't realize how nice it was meeting someone ealry in the morning. My run was muggy but it was overcast and slightly cool. I had a mile to go and then there was a complete downpour. It was a wonderful way to cool off after my run. |
| | Ran three with Lyndsey. Easy run. We walked three after on Riverdale Parkway. It was 60 degrees and perfect. |
| | Ran 4.5 by myself. Ran the same 4.5 with Sabrina. |
| | My goal was to do 10. I started my run at 6:10 am on an empty stomach. I should have eaten something before hand. I was going to do two five mile laps. The first five by myself and then the second five mile loop with Sabrina. I ran about 4 miles and felt weak so I cut off the last section of my run. Then I had some water and GU at home. Then Sabrina and I started off on our five mile run at 7:00 am. Right after we ran one mile her knee popped so we took the rest of the run slow and shortened it quite a bit. |
